COVID Protocols

School COVID protocols are set by the Archdiocese of Chicago. As of Friday, August 19th, they are as follows:

  • Sick individuals must stay home; COVID positive must isolate for 5 days

    • If symptoms last longer than 24 hours, a negative test or doctor's note is required to return.

    • If symptoms last less than 24 hours, no testing or doctor's note required.

  • There is no longer contact tracing nor close contact quarantines.

  • No requirements around distancing, lunch, after school, cohorts, etc., except for the recently positive.

  • Positive individuals:

    • Must isolate from all school activities for 5 days

      • Day 0 is the earlier of symptom onset or positive test date.

      • May return on/after day 6 if symptoms are improved and there is no fever.

    • Mask on return:

      • Individual may take optional test on/after day 5. If negative, masking is optional on return.

      • If positive, or if individual does not test, they may return, but indoor masking is required through day 10, and they must distance at lunch.

    • Siblings may attend school as long as they remain asymptomatic.
